Disney has officially stated a May 24, 2019, release date for its final Star Wars movie in the current trilogy, as publicized on April 26, 2017.

The announcement for “Star Wars: Episode IX” has come ahead of the distribution of the second movie in the trilogy, “Episode VIII: The Last Jedi,” slated for release in the U.K. and U.S. on Dec. 15.
The last film in the trilogy is said to be the only one not to have a December release date.
